Received the Excellent Poster Award at the 2019 Japanese Society of Conservation of Dentistry Autumn Meeting (151st)

The 151st meeting of Japanese Society of Conservative Dentistry was held in Fukuoka on 7-8 November, 2019. The presentation by postdoctoral fellow Dr. Youjing Qiu in the division of Clinical Cariology and Endodontology, Department of Oral Rehabilitation, School of Dentistry (title: CMET, bio-active adhesive monomer, induces odontoblast-differentiation in vitro.) was recognized as an excellent poster and received the "Excellent Poster Award of the Japanese Society of Conservation of Dentistry".
The presentation of Dr. Youjing Qiu was focus on the "induction of reparative dentin formation" approach using bio-active monomer, CMET, which shows calcification inducibility, it was revealed that CMET is a multifunctional monomer that promotes differentiation and calcification of odontoblast-like cells. Based on the results of present research, it is aim at the development of a multifunctional smart material in the near future that capable of effectively exerts functions such as remineralization ability, antibacterial property, antibiofilm forming ability, and reparative dentin formation inducibility, as well as preventing dental caries formation and protecting the pulp tissue in response to changes in the oral environment.
