Our university was interviewed by overseas media

On April 16th (Friday), Professor Masahiro Asaka (President. Health Sciences University of Hokkaido) was interviewed by GMI Post, a media partner of several overseas magazines and newspapers. The interview was conducted virtually (via ZOOM). In the interview from International Education and Exchange Center, Director Professor Yoshihiro Abiko, Associate Professor Keiji Sato, Assistant Professor Md Riasat Hasan, and Sachie Toneya were present.

 

In the interview, President Asaka said that the university is proud of its high contribution to the community, the implementation of gastric cancer prevention projects and the efforts through regional cooperation with Tobetsu Town and Takikawa City, and introduced interprofessional collaboration as a characteristic of our educational system.

 

International exchange educational programs and collaborations were explained by the International Education and Exchange Center. The purpose, current status, and future prospects of international exchange program were introduced. Professor Abiko focused on importance of globalize mindset concept.

 

In addition, President Asaka answered to a question about how our university adapting the COVID-19 situation. He explained about our efforts to manage the students under the COVID-19 situation. The interviewer was impressed by the intense efforts.

 

Duration of the interview was about an hour and a half; it was conducted in English and it was a nice discussion with them.
