On Saturday, 23rd October, the English Project was held at the Shirakaba Community Center in Tobetsu, hosted by the Tobetsu Town Board of Education and Center for Regional Partnership Promotion, HSUH.
The English Project provides opportunities for children who live in Tobetsu Town to learn English in a fun way.
From HSUH, Assistant Prof. Durga Paudel, Advanced Research Promotion Center, Dr. Soyod Toufikul Islam, Postdoctoral Fellow, School of Dentistry, and Dr. Bayar Chimegh Altanhisig, a fourth-year Ph.D student, Graduate School of Dentistry, introduced their countries and explained the cultural differences in English for the local children.
18 elementary school students participated and enjoyed this event.
It was supposed to be held last year, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, it was carried out while taking sufficient measures to prevent infection.
We would like to continue international exchange with local people as one of our collaboration with the Tobetsu town.
