From September to October 2025, the following students participated in short-term exchange programs at our university’s School of Dentistry. Although these two universities are not partner institutions, the students’ strong motivation and desire to study here led to their acceptance for the short-term exchange program.

1. Christian Albrecht University of Kiel (CAU)
Christian Albrecht University of Kiel (CAU), located in Kiel, Germany, was founded in 1665. It has approximately 27,000 students and is internationally recognized for its excellence in marine science and medical research, having produced 12 Nobel Prize laureates. This exchange program was made possible based on strong recommendations from students of our partner universities who had previously participated in programs at our institution.
During the program, the students not only engaged in academic activities at our School of Dentistry, dental clinic, and university hospital, but also visited private dental clinics in Sapporo City, where they learned about the differences between Japanese and German dental practices.
2. Seoul National University (SNU)
Seoul National University (SNU) was established in 1946 as Korea’s first national comprehensive university. Together with Korea University and Yonsei University, it forms the so-called “SKY” group, representing the top universities in Korea.
During their program, the students participated in clinical and academic activities at our School of Dentistry, dental clinic, and university hospital, concentrating on dysphagia rehabilitation and geriatric dentistry, while exploring Japan’s dental care system in a super-aging society. On the final day of their stay, 15 graduate students from the Faculty of Dentistry at Mahidol University (Thailand) one of our partner institutions visited our campus. Both groups delivered joint presentations, providing a valuable opportunity for academic and cultural exchange among students.
